What You Absolutely Need to Know About Wine, Tuesday, May 28 $52.

This class was previously named Absolute Beginning Wine Appreciation, but that title limited the participants to people who knew that didn’t know the basics of wine. Truth be told, there is a lot of fundamental information about wine that most people have just skipped over in order to get to the drinking part! So whether a beginner or hardened vet, this class will teach you something you didn’t know or at least were not sure of in the complex, wonderful world of wine. While based on the information offered in Absolute Beginners, this is a newly structured Power Point type of class presented along with nine great wines to illustrate the information. The most heard comments after this class are usually along the lines of “I’ve been drinking wine for 15 years, going tasting in Santa Barbara and Napa, etc, and I learned more about wine in the first 20 minutes of this class than I did in all that time!” Join Tasting & Seminars Director JB Severin for an entertaining revelation.

Fifty Shades of Pink (A Rosé Tasting), Wednesday, May 29 $49.

When Wine House Customers go to interview and taste young glasses of Charming Pink, they encounter a wine that is beautiful, brilliant, diverse and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Customer is startled to realize they want this wine and, despite its enigmatic reserve, find that they are desperate to get close to it. Unable to resist the Customer’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Pink admits it wants them, too—but on its own terms. Shocked yet thrilled by Pink’s singular exotic tastes, the Customer hesitates. For all the trappings of success—the international appellations, the vast wealth of style, the diversity of cepage—Pink is a wine tormented by seasons and consumed by those in need of losing control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionate affair, the Customer discovers Charming Pink’s secrets and explores their own desires. Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades of Pink tasting is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.
