2012 Hall Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley $17.99

“This 2012 release possesses a brilliant pale straw color with a hint of green. Its green under tone demonstrates the freshness of this wine as it was handled extremely carefully to avoid exposure to oxygen from harvest to bottle. The wine is bursting with ultra-ripe ruby red grapefruit, passion fruit, lychee, white peach, and banana aromas. The palate is bright and focused, suggesting citrus compote laced with white pepper spice. The mouth-watering finish is crisp and long, its peachy citrus notes echoing through to the next sip.”- Winery Notes

The oak is largely absent in the aromas and flavors, and this beautiful, mid-weight, intense Chardonnay can be enjoyed over the next few years.” 90 Points Wine Advocate

2012 Soliste Luna et Soleil Sauvignon Blanc Lake County $24.99

“Inspired by the great late Didier Dagueneau, Lune et Soleil is crafted from a single organically farmed vineyard. The wine is 100% pressed whole clusters and aged in a 600 Liter barrique of special thick staves to minimize oxygen transfer and there is no malolactic fermentation to preserve acidity, verve and length. The wine reveals elegant aromas of exotic white flowers, citrus blossoms, lemongrass and peppery verbena, with hints of tropical fruit, melon and green almond. The rich and delicate tropical aromas are followed shamelessly from the nose by a fresh taste of pineapple, guava, lychee and waxy fruit giving the wine fantastic vivacity. The middle palette shows great minerality and finesse, with focused aromas of stone fruit and spicy kaffir lime, moving into a long razor sharp, Sancerre like finish of flint, granite river stones and grapefruit peel.”- Winery Notes

2012 Dutton-Goldfield Chardonnay Dutton Ranch $27.99

“The long, friendly 2012 growing season enhanced the pear, tropical and stone fruit tones in our Dutton Ranch Chardonnay, framing the focused citrus and minerality that are always at the core of the wine. The citrus aromas lean toward Meyer lemon and tangerine this year, supported by pear/guava fruit elements and ginger/cream wood characters, inviting you in for a sip. In the mouth, the lusciousness that expresses this season is balanced by solid acidity and an evolving fruit core that keeps you coming back. Lemon sourball, ripe pear and a touch of green apple fill out the fruit profile, while the steely minerality and sweet cream touches juxtapose to add a complexity that we love in this wine. Moderate alcohol and the signature juicy acidity of Green Valley facilitate the fresh, lingering citrus/ginger finish. This is a wine that evolves in the glass and will easily reward 5 years of cellar aging, but both will be a challenge with its immediate allure.”- Winery Notes

2011 J.K. Carriere Wines Chardonnay Lucidite Willamette Valley $29.99

“Sourced from Temperance Hill and (this vintage for the first time, and to a much smaller extent) Saint Paul vineyards on the Right Bank of the Willamette, Prosser’s 2011 Chardonnay Lucidite combines positive tartness and vivacity with polish and lift at 12.5% alcohol, all of which put me in mind of this vintage’s Pinots. Piquant citrus rind and juniper impingements are complimented and offset by a silken texture and admirable primary citrus juiciness, leading to a lingering, lip-smacking finish. This strikes me as likely to perform well through at least 2016, though I have to make a point next year to taste my first older Carriere Chardonnay or two.” Wine Advocate 90 Points

2012 Brassfield Estate Vineyard Eruption Volcano Ridge Lake County $15.99

“The 2012 Eruption is rich and intense. The wine has aromas of fresh blueberries, toasted brioche, black cherries, and mocha, giving way to flavors that are jammy, ripe and unctuous. The palate explodes with blackberries, dark currants, and clove while it layers supple and round coating tannins, making the wine both hedonistic while simultaneously elegant. The texture of this wine is perhaps its most distinguishing trait – mouth-coating with an endless finish. Be certain to have a second bottle on hand, the first won’t last very long. Assuming you have to pair this wine with food, it will enhance bbq pork spareribs, filet mignon or Penne alla’Amatriciana with fresh tomatoes, capers, onions, pancetta and pecorino cheese. A blend of Syrah, Malbec, Mourvèdre, Petite Sirah.” – Winery Notes

“Broadside Cabernet Sauvignon is the result of our faithful effort to capture a pure and unadulterated representation of the grape and site. With 1000 feet of elevation and a chilling coastal influence, the well-drained soils at Margarita Vineyard provide a balance of stress and sustenance to the vines. Penetrating aromas of black currant and red berries, graphite and spice meet a classically Bordelaise palate with nuance and structure. “Smoky, Burgundian-like notes emerge from the 2012 Los Carneros Pinot Noir which is aged for nine months in French oak before being bottled. The wine exhibits lots of black currant and black raspberry fruit intermixed with hints of mocha and wood smoke. This deep, rich, medium to full-bodied, impressive Pinot Noir can be drunk now and over the next 4-5 years.” 91 Points Wine Advocate

2011 my ESSENTIAL Red Wine (Richard Betts) $19.99

“This is us meditating a bit on the essence of California. For sure it’s a sunny place and that means ripeness (not over-ripeness) and an abundance of fruit. We also know that grace and girth are not mutually exclusive so we strive to make a red that embraces the generosity of the California sun while remaining elegant, delicate and with a strong sense of place. To achieve this, we’re employing more than one grape. So, for our essential red we’re giving the lead to Cabernet Sauvignon but we’re embracing Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot in supporting roles. The grapes are grown in the very special California appellations of Santa Ynez, Happy Canyon and around Buellton. Once vinified, the wine ages for up to 2 years in only old (never new) French wood where it develops and takes on a beautiful patina.” Winemaker Notes

2010 Patricia Green Cellars Pinot Noir Estate, Ribbon Ridge $28.99

“Green’s 2010 Pinot Noir Estate Vineyard – which reflects largely Pommard and Wadenswil Pinot selections dry-farmed in low- nutrient, sandy marine sediments that she worked long and hard to open-up – brims with ripe cherry and tat red currant, displaying an almost peachy richness besides. Hints of crushed stone and charred grilled meat add interest and this finishes with impressive persistence if for now a bit stiffly and less mouthwateringly than the best wines here today. Check it again in a couple of years, and count on its remaining youthful for at least 6-8.”- Wine Advocate 90 Points

“A model of total elegance and class, the 2011 Pinot Noir from Flowers is absolutely gorgeous. Savory herbs, crushed flowers, licorice, salt, orange peel, mint and plums are all woven together in the glass. Today, the 2011 is impeccably crafted and flat-out gorgeous. Although very much a medium-bodied wine, I would not at all be surprised to see the 2011 blossom with more time in bottle. This is an impressive effort. Unfortunately, the Sonoma Coast was the only 2011 Flowers Pinot I was able to taste, but based on this effort, 2011 is certainly shaping up well here. “Bright ruby-red. Highly perfumed smoke- and spice-accented aromas of candied red berries, vanilla and rose. Nicely concentrated but energetic, offering sappy raspberry and cherry-vanilla flavors that gain spiciness with air. Closes vibrant and long, with a lingering floral note and silky, fully integrated tannins. 2009 Cenyth (By Verite) Red Blend Sonoma County $59.99

“The 2009 Cenyth is a blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot and Malbec. It has a deep ruby/purple color that is followed by notes of licorice, incense, forest floor, mulberries, black cherries and black currants. This wine shows sweet tannin and a more open knit personality which makes it approachable today, but with the potential to age for over ten years.” 93 Points Robert Parker

2011 Soliste L’Esperance Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast $74.99

“A clear expression of Morey St Denis/Chambolle clone (Dijon 115): Exotic aromatics of pure spiced red tart wild cherries, kirsh-like, bright red fruits (raspberries, pomegranate) layered with elegant sous-bois (forest floor), refined scents of exotic cardamom, anis, peppery herbals (mint) interlaced with earthy undertones. As the wine evolves in the glass or decanter, the aromatics become more voluptuous with high tone aromatics, superbly pure, and complex adding vanilla, truffles and black tea must – L’Espérance 2011 is concentration and elegance, a stunning paradox. The palate carries on the theme, attacking with precise and harmonious layers of spiced caramelized raspberries and tart wild red cherries, anintensity that is only matched by the refined silky texture. The elegant, velvety raspberry and griottine compote carries on with exotic layers of tart groseille, cranberry and pomegranate interlaced with fatty vanilla bean and exotic spices.
